Four combinations: SG, ZG, JG, HG were formed from hybrids between one stock of Channa maculate from Guangdong and 4 different stocks of Channa argus from Shandong, Zhejiang, Hunan and Jiangxi. The F, fish fry of the four combinations was cultured in 6 m x 2 m (length x width) small cement pool and 6 m x 5. 5 m large cement pool. The advanced fry with fluorescent mark was polycultured in3mx 3mx 1.4m cages. Results showed that the body length increment and weight increment of SG combination F, was 34. 80 cm and 582. 54 g, which were the largest in the 4 combinations F1. Average catching size and net production of SG combination F, was the highest, which were 582. 54 g and 38. 83 (100 g/m2), and significantly larger than those of the ZG, JG and HG combinations F, after variance analysis and multiple comparison.
