Multimodal approach for osteoarthritis management

The definition of osteoarthritis has been proposed by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons since 1995.Osteoarthritic diseases are a result of both mechanical and biological events that destabilize the normal coupling of degradation and synthesis of articular cartilage chondrocytes and extracellular matrix,and subchondral bone.Osteoarthritis involves all of the tissues of the diarthrodial joint,leading to fibrillation,ulceration and loss of articular cartilage,sclerosis and eburnation of subchondral bone,marginal osteophyte formation,subchondral bone cyst formation,and joint
