The innovation and benefits of five awards and winners of the US Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge (PGCC) Awards Program in 2010 were introduced: ①Genomatica company was awarded greener synthetic pathways award because of production of basic chemicals 1,4-butanediol from renewable feedstock at lower cost. ② Kraton Performance Polymer company was awarded greener reaction conditions award because of their NEXARTM Polymer Membrane Technology which is halogen-free, high-flow, less solvent.③Sherwin-Williams company was awarded designing greener chemicals award because of water-based Acrylic Alkyd technology with low VOCs(volatile organic compounds).④ BioAmber company was awarded small business award because of production of biobased succinic acid by less energy and low-cost fermentation. ⑤Professor Bruce H.
