The Joint Atomic Time Scale, which is the best time reference available in China,is produced by many atomic clocks in difference time-keeping labs. This paper intro-duces the formation and computation of the Joint Atomic Time, as well as analysis ofatomic clocks and comparison techniques. The results of the Joint Atomic Time fromOctober, 1985 up to now indicate that theuniformity of the TA(JATC) is about ±4 ×10-14,the frequency accuracy is within ±1×10-13; the real-time UTC(JATC) has the time fluc-tuation less than ±0.3μs, the long-term stability is about 5×10-14, and the frequencyaccuracy within ±2× 1013. By means of this reference standard, the frequency steps of10-13 order and rate drift of 10-14/month order can be found and determined. The accu-racy of the standard can be maintained within ±1×10-13, and the high-precision frequen-cy calibration cau be provided to the users at any time.
