In this paper, four kinds of experimental models of gastric ulcer and gastric juice assay were used to investigate and evaluate the preventive action of ginger decoct and compared with Kuaiwei table. The results showed that ginger decocts of 40%, 10%and2. 5% could significantly decrease the ulcer index and rate of ulcer occurring in all kinds of ulcer. Its preventive biological action is superior to kuaiwei tablet. It suggested that ginger may have a defensive action on gastric ulcer.
