The fact with magnificently natural landscape and green cities in Iceland is quite different from one's imagination. And it is also unimaginable for the foreigners that the stories have been involved in the development of Icelandic landscape architecture. Icelandic design has become an integral part of Scandinavian design statements since the late 20* century, hence it is necessary to briefly trace the development of the Icelandic landscape. The prominent achievements of landscape architecture in 1900-70 is reflected in both environment beautified and the profession recognized (1978) in Iceland. This paper attempts to raise the interesting of the domestic public in Icelandic landscape gardening via the introduction of the Icelandic landscape before 1970, as well to demonstrate the first generation of Icelandic landscape architects how to fulfill the social responsibility with building a better homeland and improving the public aesthetic in the parks under their professional practices.%冰岛自然景观的壮美和家园与城市的葱郁与人们对它的许多惨淡的臆想是截然不同的.同样冰岛园林发展过程中的许多故事,也是其他国度的人们想象不到的.20世纪末以来冰岛设计已经成为表述北欧设计不可或缺的部分,因之对冰岛园林发展的追问也是必要的.在20世纪70年代以前冰岛园林的成就,主要是家园绿化和风景园林师职业获得认可(1978年).对冰岛园林的介绍,旨在展现1970年前其发展历程和第一代冰岛风景园林设计师为专业地位的奋斗以及他们的作品,以期使更多的人了解冰岛园林,了解冰岛园林设计师在履行职业责任中,是如何实践着创造美好家园和引领公众前行的社会责任.
