From Aug.,1979-Dec.,1981,neonatal survey was carried out in four city hospitals in Shanghai,totaling 25,267 infants,12,831 were male and 12,436 female.23 CHD cases were found,giving an incidence of 0.91‰ lower than that reported in foreign coun_tries.The examination was carried out first in the delivery room and repeated after 42 days,with the Ortolani test.Those showing positive results were referred to the orthopedic surgeon for re-examination and a Von Rosen film taken to confirm the diagnosis.Our group of confirmed cases had either been breech (26%) or Caeserian section(30%).No report of high incidence of CHD in latter case has ever been available in foreign literature.The authors believed that high frequency of Caesarian section is related to the one.child policy that makes safe delivery often required,except for factors,such as big fetus and abnormal fetal position.The authors found Rosen film valuable in the rndiagnosis of CHD which gave 91% positives in this series.With regards to acetabular index of 35,when it goes above 35,CHD should be consldered.Oriolani test gave a high percentage of false positive,which will be diseussed in a separate article.%@@ 作者自1979年8月～1981年12月在上海市杨浦区妇婴保健院、卢湾区产院、黄浦区妇婴保健院和新华医院开展新生儿髋脱位普查.普查时,得到以上医院产房和儿科医师的配合.
