Insulin resistance and inflammation are believed to play integral roles in the pathogenesis and progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease ( NAFLD). Metabolic syndrome which includes obeisty, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and hyperlipidemia is a risk factor of NAFLD. Calanin is a well-known neuropeptide function through binding to 3 receptors (GalR1, GalR2 and GalR3) , though recently it is also reported as an adipokine. Galanin may play a role in NAFLD through regulation of insulin resistance, and relief of inflammation. The current review focuses on the advance in biological effects of galanin on major risk factors and pathology of NAFLD.%胰岛素抵抗和炎症反应是非酒精性脂肪性肝病(NAFLD)主要发病机制,以肥胖、Ⅱ型糖尿病和高脂血症为代表的代谢综合征是其主要危险因素.
