Objective To explore ihe relationship belween red blood cell distribution width (RDW) and the prognosis of critical illness patients. Methods Critical illness patients admitted to Emergency department of our hospital from January 2010 to June 2011, were divided into two groups; survival group and death group. Platelet ( PLT) count, prothrombin time ( PT) , activated partial thromboplastin time ( APTT) and red blood cell distribution width (RDW) were measured. Results Compared with survival group, PLT was significantly decreased( 143. 81 ± 85. 08 vs 173. 43 ± 81. 42, P <0. 01)in the death group. PT and APTT in the death group were significantly prolonged(22. 82 ± 21. 25 vs 12. 02 ± 2. 65, 49. 86 ± 25. 60 vs 29. 82 ± 8. 83, P < 0. 01). RDW was significantly increased in the death group (0. 14 ± 0. 02 vs 0. 13 ± 0. 01, P < 0. 01). Conclusion RDW can predict the prognosis of critical illness patients.%目的 探讨红细胞体积分布宽度(RDW)与危重症患者预后的关系.
