The shock index (SI),defined as heart rate/ systolic blood pressure, is widely used nowadays to indicate the level of shock in the clinical practice. In addition of being a simple method, the SI, proven by ample recent clinical studies, greatly excels other traditional vital signs while being used only to predict courses of diseases, and therefore becomes a common index of prognosis and diagnosis in the emergency medicine. We hereby reviewed the most recent applications of the SI and its derivatives, especially in assessments of the acute trauma, myocardial infarction (MI),postpartum hemorrhage, sepsis and pulmonary embolism,as well as their instructive functions in the massive blood transfusion and infusion/rehydration.%休克指数(shock indeX,SI)即心率(次/min)/收缩压(mm Hg),是目前临床上常用于休克程度判定的参考指标,SI的获取简单方便,目前多项研究表明其对于临床病情的预警评估明显优于单一使用其他传统生命体征.
