Fracture of the tibial plateau is a common type in intra-articular fracture. In traditional open operation, the joint capsule usually needs to be cut to observe the reduction of articular surface, the injuries of meniscus and ligament, which easily leads to postoperative adhesion, pain and increased risk of infection as well as sensory disturbance. These all affect postoperative effects. With the development of arthroscopic technology and the concept of minimally invasive surgery, arthroscopy assisted reduction and internal fixation in the fracture of the tibial plateau are gradually prevalent with good clinical effects. This article makes a summary on surgical indications and contraindications, surgical advantages, postoperative clinical curative effects, disadvantages and its development in the future.
