A study of chip formation of nano-grinding process using molecular dynamics method was presented. Based on the MD simulation results, the nano-grinding processes were analysed using the equivalent stress distribution, temperature field and neighboring changing ratio distribution.Then a chip formation model of nano-grinding was presented, and the chip formation mechanism of nano grinding was proposed. Moreover,it is found that {1 1 1} slip deformation occurres under the work piece subsurface while large pressure is applied on the grit.%采用分子动力学方法模拟了金刚石磨粒对单晶铜工件的纳米磨削过程.基于模拟结果分析了工件在磨削过程中应力及温度的变化,并据此建立了纳米磨削工作模型.研究了纳米磨削过程中磨屑的形成机理.模拟结果发现,磨粒在较大的压力作用下,磨削后工件表层有一定深度的形变产生,并存在{1 1 1}晶面滑移形变.
