Japan is not a claimant country of the South China Sea.However,it has been meddling in the South China Sea issue in recent years.Japan’s meddling has brought greater uncertainties to the already complicated situation,and it increases the challenges China faces in safeguarding its maritime rights and its initiative for the development of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
