Objective To observe the effect of probucol on the expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP9) in atherosclerotic lesions of rabbits. MethodsEstablishment of atherosclerosis model in 27 New Zealand white rabbits, 6 weeks were randomly fed to probucol (n=9, probucol group) or atorvastatin (n=9, atorvastatin group) or high fat diet (n=9, model group). The blood lipid levels were observed in each group, and the expression of MMP9 in aorta of each group was measured by immunohistochemistry. Results Compared with the model group, the expression of aortic atherosclerotic plaque, low density lipoprotein cholesterol and MMP9 were decreased in the group.Conclusion While lowering cholesterol, MMP9 expression was inhibited, and the role of anti atherosclerosis and stabilizing plaque was also played.%目的:观察普罗布考对兔主动脉粥样硬化病变及基质金属蛋白酶-9(MMP9)表达的影响。方法27只新西兰大耳白兔建立动脉粥样硬化症模型,随机加喂普罗布考(n=9,普罗布考组)或阿托伐他汀(n=9,阿托伐他汀组)或高脂饮食(n=9,模型组)6周。观察各组大白兔血脂含量,免疫组化法测各组兔主动脉MMP9表达。结果普罗布考组主动脉粥样斑块,低密度脂蛋白胆固醇及MMP9表达均较模型组降低。结论普罗布考在降低胆固醇的同时,抑制MMP9表达,发挥抗动脉粥样硬化、稳定斑块作用。
