Synthesis of 2-Fluoroalkylated Tetrahydrofuran Derivatives from Ethyl α-Fluoroalkylacetates

Ethyl α-(2-alkenyl)-α-perfiuoroacylacetates (4) are synthesized from the reaction of ethyl αperfiuoroalkylacetates with allylic alcohols in the presence of the mixed base of triethylamine and sodium dicarbonate. Iodoenoletherification of the compounds 4 afforded 2-fluoroalkylated tetrahydrofuran derivatives 5 under the improved conditions. The possible reaction pathwaays are suggested.
