Theoretical analysis of the optimization of industrial structure of regional equipment manufacturing industry has shown that factors influencing the structure are supply and demand structures. In a supply structure, resource endowment and technology progress are conducive to industrial structure optimization. In a demand structure, change of consumption need and the ratio of investment need exert influence to the structure opti-mization to some extent. In the context of globalization, the industrial structure upgrade is accelerated by overseas advanced technology and the boom of import and export trade. Apart from the above factors, governmental policy and market are also influencing factors. All the fa-vorable factors should be used in facilitating industrial structure optimization.
