My cognition for Chinese Music History——Combined with the development of the Qingdao area musicology

摘要

Music is a culture. Its unique charm attracts people of all generations to learn it, study it and create it. Thus musicology comes into being. Historiography of music in China, as a branch of musicology, has undergone research for a long time which enables it to become a complete and mature discipline. Qingdao is, a historical city in China, endowed with time-honoured history and rich cultural heritage. This paper will explain the music de-velopment of this city and elaborate on the author’s understanding of historiography of music in China.
