摘要

At the Celebration of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Founding of the Institute of Archaeology, CASS, Prof. Liu Qingzhu, Director of IA, reviewed in his speech the course of development of IA in the past 50 years, its contributions to the initiation and development of China's archaeological cause and those to the construction of the disciplinary system of Chinese archaeology. He pointed out that the Institute would meet the challenge of the 21st century's archaeology with the scientific spirit of brazing new trails, for which it should be further strengthened to construct the theoretical system of Chinese archaeology, study archaeological cultures in the plural and integral pattern of the Chinese nation, push forward the application of natural sciences in archaeology, cultivate talented people and protect cultural relics.
