In addition to inducing apoptosis,necrosis,autophagy,and bystander effects,carbon ionizing radiation can also induce endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress.As the most important trans-membrane sensor under ER stress,how PERK affects the radiosensitivity of cancer cells with different statuses of TP53,and ultimately determines the therapeutic effect against cancer,remain poorly understood.
