The shoot apex meristems of different types of 19 sweet potato varieties were cultured, the results were obtained as follows; different sweet potato varieties had different bud differentiation rates, which mainly focused from 48.9% to 88.0%. According to the regenerative ability, the tested sweet potato varieties had the following order; Zhengshu 20 > Ayamuraskai > Chuan 294 > Xushu 25, Xushu 18,Sushu No. 8, Jishu 18, Yushu No. 10>Xu 55-2, Xu 22 -5 >Beijing 553 >Xushu 23 >Xu 508, Xu 22-l>Xu 25 -2 > Xushu 22, Jinyu > Xinxiang, Guangshu 79. The virus - free rates of the regenerative plantlets of different varieties were all a-bove 80%.%对19个不同类型的甘薯品种进行茎尖分生组织培养,结果表明:不同甘薯品种具有不同的芽分化率,主要集中在48.9％～88％范围内；不同品种的再生能力由强到弱顺序为郑薯20＞ Ayamuraskai＞川294＞徐薯25、徐薯18、苏薯8号、济薯18、豫薯10号＞徐55 -2、徐22-5＞北京553＞徐薯23＞徐508、徐22-1＞徐25 -2＞徐薯22、金玉＞心香、广薯79；再生株系的脱毒率均在80％以上.
