摘要

In Huang Shuguang's recent book Change and Tradition:The Destiny of Chinese Traditional Education,he focused on the transition and transformation of traditional forms of educational discourse in modem times.In this book,Huang views social education in modem China as more of a hybrid than a pure form.Firmly rooted in the profound cultural background and national character of China,it has drawn upon various Western theories as well.Characterized as a combination of both time-honored conventions and newly established rules,modem education always struggles against traditional social education,yet all the while it carries the essence of tradition forward.
