An attempt to determine if a site-specific series of seminars would have any effect on the emergency preparedness of faculty and administration of a non-resident college was performed. The subjects were employees of the college of mixed backgrounds, education and gender. The seminars were developed with the college environment and surrounding communities as specific threat sources. The topics of the seminars were school threats including active shooter, hurricane preparedness and hazardous materials. Each seminar concluded with a question and answer session. After the seminar series was completed a survey produced by F.E.M.A. was distributed. The results of the survey data indicated a correlation between those participants that completed all three seminars and higher scores in the preparedness survey. The results were compared with an earlier survey performed in 2011; the results show a higher preparedness of the participants over those results in 2011.
