The One-hundredth Page is a novella in three acts. Like a play, this novella renders a drama in several scenes. The plot centers on the different way in which two young men fall in love with the same woman. Their relationships are viewed from several perspectives, described through narrative, conversations, journal entries and other writings. Most of the story is seen through the eyes of one of the young men, George Shelby, as he reflects on the relationships and events. On the whole, the book demonstrates, through structure and content, how an event can be explained simply, even though that event might seem, at the time, inexplicable.
