A comparison of the parallel functions of the Law of Moses and Army ethics.

This thesis examines the problem an evangelical chaplain in the Army might have with teaching ethics in the Army due to the secular nature of that environment. Chapter one defines the nature of the problem. Chapter two discusses the functions of the Law of Moses, especially in the life of the unbelieving Jew. Chapter three examines the system of Army ethics, while chapter four compares the ways this system can parallel the functions of the Law in the life of the unbelieving soldier.;This work contends that the evangelical chaplain should look at Army ethics as an ethic that has practical benefits in the life of the soldier. This system can also convict the unbeliever of sin and point him or her to God. In these ways, Army ethics parallels the functions of the Law of Moses.
