A demographic study of MMPI-2 elevated validity scale profiles among workers' compensation claimants involved in litigation.

This study examined the relationship between elevated MMPI-2 F scale and F–K index scores and workers compensation claimants involved in current litigation. It also examined the relationship between elevated MMPI2 F scale and F–K index scores and demographic variables of age, gender, education, and marital status.; The sample consisted of 80 workers compensation claimants involved in litigation who had completed the MMPI-2 as part of a psychological evaluation within the inclusion dates of January 1, 1999 and December 31, 1999. Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient and multiple regression analyses were used to analyze the data to determine if there were significant relationships between the variables.; The study found that a significant relationship exists between elevated MMPI-2 F scale and F–K index scores and workers compensation claimants involved in litigation. There was a significant relationship between gender and education level, and elevated MMPI-2 F–K index scores and a significant relationship between education level and elevated MMPI-2 F scale scores. However, there were no significant relationships between age and marital status and elevated MMPI-2 F scale and F–K index scores.
