There is a dearth of literature aimed at understanding Chinese entrepreneurs comparedwith the amount of literature on American entrepreneurs. There are even fewerstudies that compare Chinese and American entrepreneurs. As the interdependence ofthe economic superpowers continues to grow, it becomes increasingly important tounderstand similarities and differences between the two groups.Furthermore, researching the two groups can result in a greater understanding of the entrepreneurversus research which focuses only on one socio-culture.In this study Chinese andAmerican researchers collected responses from 279 Chinese and American establishedentrepreneurs in China and the United States. The goal of the research is to developgreater understanding of how culture, economics and policy influence the formation oftheir ventures. The results of our study indicate a significant difference in Chinese andAmerican response to policy. The significant difference in policy response mightjustify further research, and could indicate that policy is more important to the Chineseentrepreneur.A contribution to existing entrepreneurial theory was made regardingthe similarities of networking regardless of cultural environment.Additionally, pluralistic views were used to analyze economics relationship with entrepreneurship.A three dimensional conceptual model was used, measuring culture, economics andpolicy.
