杰克·伦敦矛盾的女性观

摘要

作为十九世纪末二十世纪初美国文学界的宠儿，杰克·伦敦始终关心女性的生存现状及人生出路。从杰克·伦敦作品中勾勒出的那个内蕴丰厚，质地鲜明且色彩斑斓的大批女性形象中，我们可以深深体会他对女性的独特认识。作为一个复杂的作家，杰克·伦敦的女性观也同样复杂。在赞赏与高歌的同时，他也同样轻视和贬低女性。本文第一部分介绍伦敦的文学地位以及他的性别观。第二部分集中论述其新女性形象外表下所体现出的男权主义。虽然伦敦竭力呼应女权主义运动，但这很难使他摆脱传统性别观念。本文第三部分分析伦敦矛盾女性观形成的根源。
　　综上，从伦敦的写作中我们可以得到以下几点结论:第一，男性人物形象的上升是伴随着女性人物形象的下降的，男性具有对女性权力的绝对控制;第二，男性潜能的发展需要女性的催化;第三，女性价值的实现需要男性的帮助。虽然着力描写新女性，但他无法完全克服传统性别观念的偏见，这使他小说中的新女性人物形象随着男性人物形象的上升不断下降。
