摘要
Background:Laparoscopic pericystectomy of hydatid disease in the liver has encouraging and promising results, though its feasibility and safety have been questioned hence, the aim of this article is to evaluate the role and safety of the laparoscopic pericystectomy in treatment of hydatid cyst.Method:A total of 15 consecutive patients with hepatic ecinococcosis (HCE) were enrolled in this retrospective study between January 2010 and January 2012 to undergo laparoscopic pericystectomy. Preoperative findings, intraoperative outcomes, postoperative short term complications, postoperative follow up were recorded and analyzed. Results:Out of the 15 patients 7(46.6%) were male and 8(53.3%) were female. Type 1 cyst was in 1(6.6%) of patients while type 2 and 3 cyst were in 46.6% of patients respectively. In the 5(33.3%) CE patients, the cysts located in left lobes while in the 10 (76.7%) patients in right lobes. The average operative time was 160 minute while average intraoperative bleeding was 102.6 ml. Postoperative average hospital stay was 7.3 days. Average follow up was 16 months there the postoperative courses of patients were very comfortable and no complications related to laparoscopic technique occurred. Conclusion:Laparoscopic pericystectomy can be considered as a very useful in selected cases those in which the cysts are located superficially and having liquid content with lower intraoperative bleeding risks and short postoperative hospital duration with lower morbidity and recurrence rate.
