跨文化交际中英汉言语幽默对比研究

摘要

言语幽默，包括由语言表达的幽默和通过语言创造的幽默。作为语言的一种特殊形式和一种文化载体，它表达了我们对生活的态度、观点和看法，也是人类智慧的体现。起初幽默的研究只限于心理学，美学，哲学和其他领域。从20世纪80年代开始，语言学家们从语言学角度来研究言语幽默并提出了一些意义重大的理论。
　　言语幽默和文化紧密相联，虽然跨文化交际发展迅速，但在跨文化交际中对言语幽默的研究较少。中美跨文化交际日益频繁，英汉言语幽默是两种语言和文化的重要组成部分。如果双方能理解对方的言语幽默，就会促进跨文化交际，所以有必要对跨文化交际中对英汉言语幽默进行系统的比较，并找出其不同的文化原因。
　　本文首先对言语幽默的特点和功能做出研究。在言语幽默特点方面，作者首先阐述语音特点，词汇特点，句法特点，语义特点和语用特点，并总结了言语幽默的身心功能，交际功能，文化功能之后，接着主要以英汉言语幽默为研究对象，对英汉言语幽默的相似性和不同做了系统的对比研究。在相似性方面，作者阐述英汉言语幽默如何利用语音歧义，词汇歧义，句法歧义和修辞来产生幽默效果。在不同方面，作者通过举例来对比英汉言语幽默差异的五个主要不同之处:言语幽默话题，言语幽默对象，使用场合，表达方式和言语幽默风格。在跨文化交际中研究言语幽默，并总结出造成英汉言语幽默五个主要文化原因:历史和地理环境，宗教信仰，文化价值观，思维模式和社会习俗。接着提出了一些在跨文化交际中能够缩小言语幽默理解差距的策略:了解英汉文字的语言特征，了解中西文化的不同之处，克服民族优越感，提高移情能力。
　　本研究的研究意义在于理解了英汉言语幽默的相似和不同之处，以及英汉言语幽默不同的原因，以此有效促进中国和英美国家的跨文化交际。同时本篇英汉言语幽默对比研究也给了我们这样的启示，在第二语言教学中言语幽默的应用也能成为指导学生习得别的文化的一种策略。在语言课堂上，随着学生的笑声，学生们可以了解到不同文化间的差异并且能够提高他们的跨文化意识来增进他们的跨文化交际。
