英汉翻译中形合与意合的转换——以The Cuckoo’s Calling的汉译为例

摘要

在语言学上来讲,英语与汉语最为重要的一个区别就是形合与意合的对比。相对来说,英语重形合,注重句子结构的完整,以及各个成分的衔接。但是汉语重意合,句法结构较为随便,注重意义上的连贯表达。然而,这并不是说英语是形合的语言,而汉语是意合的语言。只是在普遍意义上来讲,英语与汉语两种语言存在不同的侧重点。
　　本报告节选J·K·罗琳的英文侦探小说The Cuckoo’s Calling中的部分章节进行了翻译,并在翻译基础上分析了形合与意合在英译汉过程中的转换。节选篇章中含有较多的从句和分句,比较复杂。以往对于形合意合的分析,着重于连词、介词的使用,体现在对句子结构的分析上。本报告从词法与句法两个方面展开研究,对比分析形合与意合在英译汉中的应用。句法方面,着重分析两种语言在连接词使用方面的不同,以及句法结构的差异。词法方面,着重分析英语中几种主要词性的形式及形态变化。
