对英语专业和非英语专业汉译英中母语负迁移的对比分析

摘要

在英语学习过程中,母语迁移起着不可忽视的作用,它也一直是语言学界热烈探讨的话题。大量研究表明,人们要对第二语言习得或外语学习现象做出充分的解释就必须要考虑语言迁移这一因素(Gass& Selinker,1992)。翻译作为英语学习的五种基本技能之一,在英语学习与教学中都有着举足轻重的地位。因此,本文旨在集中于汉译英这一方面来分析母语的负迁移问题。通过对比分析英语专业与非英语专业学生在汉译英翻译上受母语负迁移的不同程度的影响,本文旨在探讨这一现象背后的深刻原因。
　　 具体来说,本文主要着力解决下列问题:英语专业和非英语专业学生在汉译英翻译中所犯的迁移错误方面是否存在显著的差异?如果有,在程度上有何不同,比如说在总的迁移错误中,英语专业和非英语专业学生所犯的错误各占多大比例,这两组在迁移错误方面有没有什么特别的倾向性,而在这种差异的背后可能的潜在影响因素又是什么?
　　 本文采取翻译取样,进行一定的语料分析,采用错误分析法对翻译中的错误归类分析。主要的实验对象为110名山东大学在读的大二学生,其中60名为英语专业学生,另外50名来自经济学院。在此研究之前,实验对象均未接受过任何翻译方面的培训。他们被要求完成一份汉译英的翻译测验,并于完成后填写一份关于翻译策略的使用的问卷调查来辅助研究。样本及问卷收集后,一位富有多年在中国教学经验的外教协同作者一起对翻译进行批改纠错。作者发现大学生在汉译英上的错误类型很大程度上是由母语迁移引起的,而且通过用SPSS软件对问卷收集的数据进行分析,结果发现英语专业学生和非英语专业学生在翻译中所犯的迁移错误方面确实有差异,并且差异在一定程度上和他们的翻译策略的使用有关。在此基础上,作者为如何提高大学生的翻译水平提出了一些建设性的意见,也希望其他研究者能在本文这个初步研究的基础上进行更深层次的探索。
