拉康镜像理论视域下《少年Pi》中他者身份与欲望的构建

摘要

加拿大青年作家扬·马特尔凭借作品《少年Pi》一举拿下2002年度英国的布克奖。在这部貌似漂流小说的作品中，马特尔用大量的篇幅为我们讲述一个充满奇幻色彩的故事。主人公印度少年Pi因遭遇海难不得不与一只成年的孟加拉虎共处一艘救生艇。在太平洋上一起度过了227天后，他们最终幸存下来。小说一经面世就受到广大群众的欢迎与喜爱，同时也成为评论界的重点关注对象。其中的大部分评论主要集中在探索故事的主题和故事中表露出的宗教信仰问题之上。然而，对于那只名为理查德·帕克的老虎的真伪性进行深刻分析的文章到现今为止却少之又少。本文认为探究老虎的真实身份是解读小说的关键所在。 本文由引言、理论基础、论述主体和结论四部分构成。 引言主要介绍了作者与作品，评述了国内外对此部作品的研究动态，并阐述本论文的观点。 理论基础部分主要是对拉康镜像理论的起源与发展进行了概述。此外，还对该理论的两个主要方面:他者身份和他者欲望进行了详细地解释与说明。 论述主体由两个部分构成:第一部分阐述了Pi原他者的丧失和新他者——理查德·帕克身份的重建。此部分具体阐述了原他者丧失的原因，原他者丧失后Pi的表现行为与Pi重建新他者的具体过程;第二部分分析了Pi如何将自己的欲望转换成他者的欲望。Pi作为一个严格的素食主义者和虔诚的宗教信仰者，面对自身向邪恶转变这一事实是难以接受的,此时正需要一个新的他者来承担他的罪恶。此部分便详细阐述了他者欲望出现的原因和他者欲望出现的目的。 结论部分概括全文。本文旨在启示:每个人心中都存有一个理查德·帕克。当人类在遭遇悲惨境况的时候，应该不懈地努力，永不轻易放弃。最后，在本部分的结尾处提出了本文的局限性和未来的研究建议。
