基于语料库对MARPOL公约中语法衔接的对比研究

摘要

本文基于韩礼德和哈桑在1976年《英语的衔接》一书中提出的衔接理论，着重研究语法衔接在《国际防止船舶造成污染公约》中的分布情况以及造成这种分布结果的主要原因。基于这一理论，作者的研究主要从指称、替代、省略、和连接四个层面上展开。通过建立海事英语语料库和普通英语语料库，并在在计算机软件Antconc和SPSS的帮助下，着重解决两个问题:1.四种语法衔接手段在海事英语语料库以及普通英语语料库中的分布特点;2.四种语法衔接手段在两个语料库的分布是否存在显著性差异。研究结果表明:1.在语法衔接的四种手段中，指称所占比重最大，在两个语料库中分别达到94.81％和89.67％，其次是连接。省略和替代使用频率最低。2.四种语法衔接手段在两个不同文体的语料库中的分布存在显著性差异。
　　鉴于前人对语法衔接的研究大多集中在普通英语文本，作者希望通过此次研究，为语法衔接提供一个新的研究视角，弥补海事英语特别是海事公约研究中的空白;同时，本研究可以帮助从事航运业的人员更好的理解《国际防止船舶造成污染公约》，并严格按照公约规定规范自身行为，减少海洋污染，保护海洋环境。
