中国大学生英语演讲与TED教育类演讲中语法衔接手段的比较研究

摘要

1976年韩礼德和哈桑合著的《英语的衔接》首次将衔接理论带入人们的视野。从此，对衔接理论的分析成为语篇研究的一个重要课题。本文基于两个自建语料库——中国大学生英语演讲语料库和TED教育类演讲语料库，以韩礼德和哈桑的衔接理论为框架，采用定性和定量相结合的方式对比分析中国大学生演讲与TED教育类演讲中衔接手段的差异，旨在发现这些差异背后的原因，进而为中国大学生提高英语演讲水平提出针对性的建议。
　　研究结果显示，在英语演讲中，中国大学生与TED演讲者存在语法衔接手段使用的差异。差异主要表现在:首先，在照应方面，中国大学生第一、二人称的使用比例高于TED演讲者;其次，在从句的替代和省略上，相比于TED演讲者，中国大学生使用从句替代和省略的比例较低;最后，在连接词的使用方面，中国大学生对简单的常用连接词的依赖性极高，显得语言单调，缺少变化。
　　经过进一步分析，作者发现以上差异的主要成因可以被归为两大类:一是中国大学生及英语教师没有意识到语法衔接手段在英语演讲中发挥着极大的作用。二是由于思维方式不同，中国大学生与TED演讲者形成了不同的演讲策略。作者也提出了一些针对性的建议:首先，熟练运用语法衔接手段，提高大学生的英语演讲能力，不要躲避相对复杂的结构，更不要过度依赖简单词汇。其次，在演讲中应避免过度使用重复策略，从而降低语言的单调性。
