摘要

Along with the rapid development of coastal tourism resources, providing more opportunities for tourists and local people to enjoy the beach, there have been an increasing number of coastal cities which are engaging in the construction of artificial beach. However, building a artificial beach on the muddy coast is a brand new project because' the hydrodynamic condition is relatively weak and scouring effect is deficient on mud beach. The fine sediments deposit on the artificial beach, which causes the beach mudding and affects the long-term administrative operation.Therefore, it is of great importance for the technology research and application to solve the problem of the artificial beach mudding. In Xiamen City the artificial beach will be built along the northwest beach of Tongan Bay.This paper gives a comprehensive analysis of the possibility and prospect of artificial beach mudding through the analysis of the investigation data based upon a field survey, the silt depositing and consolidating experiment, the silt motion experiment and analysis of the draft layout plan of the artificial beach. The research shows: (1) According to an analysis of the sediment, hydrodynamic environment and topography survey of 30 sections in Xiamen Bay, the beaches in the Xiamen Bay can be divided into three categories, i.e. sandy beach; muddy beach and sand-mud mixed beach. The wave is relatively weak in Tongan Bay due to the island's covering, and the annual wave height is only 0.3m~0.4m in average. The type of hydrodynamic environment is muddy beach. (2) When the intertidal zone below the water level, the water-absorption of sand has a remarkable accelerating effect on mud consolidation. If the mud deposit on the sandy beach, the mud density can reach 1.40g/cm3 within one hour. If the mud deposit on the bed below the water,the mud density will increase up to 1.40g/cm3 in 2 hours and stays steady. (3) According to wave channel experiment, by the calculation the critical shear velocity is 1.62cm/s when the mud density is 1.40g/cm3. In view of the relation between mudding depth and wave height, considering the average wave height is 0.3m~0.4m along the artificial beach, the mudding depth is 1.5m~2.0m by estimate along the artificial beach in Tongan Bay, equal to the mudding elevation is 4.0m~5.0m on theoretical position. (4) After the dredging project in Tongan Bay, the near-shore wave strengthens and the probability of sediment depositing reduces. The siltation intensity lessens along the artificial beach and the beach mudding elevation descends to 3.3m on theoretical position. The hydrodynamic environment is sand-mud mixed beach, which is advantageous for the artificial beach.
