话语标记语Imean的语法化研究

摘要

话语标记语I mean因其在日常交流中能表达多种语用功能（如修正错误、澄清观点、缓和面子威胁等）而成为最常用的话语标记语之一。然而，现有关于I mean的研究主要集中于共时角度，研究其在话语中所承担的语用功能。鲜有研究关注话语标记语 I mean的历史来源，寥寥的历时研究没有提出明晰的话语标记语 I mean的句法和语义演变路径。因此，本文将通过研究 I mean的句法和语义演变路径、其演变的内在机制及其演变过程所体现的特点来探究I mean如何从一个主谓结构演变成话语标记语。本文以语法化为理论框架，以美国历史语料库为语料来源，定性与定量地分析话语标记语I mean的历史演变。
　　本文得出以下结论：1）话语标记语 I mean来源于 I mean+ phrasal complement结构，其具体的句法演变路径是I mean+ phrasal element> phrasal element+ I mean> phrasal element, I mean/ I mean, phrasal eleme nt（discourse marker I mean）；语义演变路径是ideational meaning> non-ideational meaning(textual meaning+expressive meaning)。2）四种机制作用于I mean的语法化过程：重新分析和类推作用于句法方面；隐喻和语用推理作用于语义方面。3）I mean的语法化过程体现了单向性、重叠、歧变、语义滞留、主观化和人际主观化的特点。其中，单向性、重叠、歧变体现在I mean的句法演变路径方面；语义滞留、主观化和人际主观化则暗示了I mean的语义语用特点。
　　本文相对明晰地阐释了话语标记语I mean的句法和语义演变路径，丰富了话语标记语I mean和语法化理论的研究。同时为其它话语标记语的语法化研究提供了可参考的思路和方法。
