语境理论在初中英语词汇教学中的运用研究

摘要

词汇教学是英语教学不可缺少的一部分。对于学习者来说，没有词汇作为基础他们很难在听、说、读、写方面取得进步。词汇对于语言学习的重要性就像砖瓦对于建造大楼的重要性一样。然而，传统的词汇教学存在许多缺陷。老师通常是脱离语境孤立地教授单词。传统的词汇教学模式如下:老师让学生翻到单词表，领读新单词。然后会一一解释这些新单词的用法。课下学生通过死记硬背记忆这些新单词。第二天老师会通过听写来检测学生们的记忆情况。根据实际的教学经验，这种传统的词汇教学方法并不是十分有效。它不能调动学生学习英语词汇的积极性。更糟糕的是，由于词汇没有掌握好，英语学习就会举步维艰，一些学生甚至会逐渐放弃学习英语。因此，迫切需要我们初中英语老师找到一些有效的教授英语词汇的方法。
　　经过作者查阅大量的关于语境教学的资料，找到了一个教授词汇的新方法。把语境理论应用到初中英语词汇教学。本文就是为了验证语境理论应用到词汇教学是否有效的实证研究。作者选取了实验班和控制班两个样本作为实验对象。在实验班，运用语境理论进行词汇教学;在控制班，运用传统的词汇教学方法教授词汇。本文需要验证的两个假设如下:(1)把语境理论应用到词汇教学能够提高学生学习英词汇语的兴趣，而且对于培养学生的词汇学习策略也会产生一定的积极影响。(2)把语境理论应用到词汇教学中能够提高学生综合运用词汇的能力。
　　为期十周的训练中，在前测试阶段，所有的学生都做了调查问卷和一份关于词汇的测试题。在后测试阶段，所有的学生都做了一份关于词汇的测试题，但是只有实验班的学生做了调查问卷。前测试阶段和后测试阶段的问卷完全一样，词汇测试题的难度也一样。利用软件SPSS13.0分析来自问卷调查和词汇测试的数据可以看出经过十周的训练实验班的学生在一定程度上提高了词汇学习的兴趣，他们的词汇学习策略也或多或少地发生了改变，他们的词汇综合运用能力也有一定提高。
　　最后作者希望通过本课题的研究有助于探索出一条适合初中英语词汇教学的教学模式，同时也为具有相同相似情况的初中英语词汇教学提供一些参考，从而促进初中英语词汇教学的发展。
