The Research on Luen Thai's Supply Chain Model Based on Virtual Value Net

Integration is a process of redefining and connecting parts of a whole in order to form a new one. In the traditional supply chain model, the integration focus is more on the connection of enterprises in the supply chain using logistics and information communications. This paper proposes a theory of a virtual value net, which studies the reconstruction and integration of organizations in the supply chain on the basis of business components, as well as the integration of the information resource net and the logistics organization net. In the virtual value chain, the boundaries of enterprises are regarded as transparent, based on the customer-oriented business processes, enterprises are broken into business components, which are connected with logistics and information flows. The efficiencies of different integration solutions are evaluated to design the information resource net and the logistics organization net. As a case study, the Luen Thai's supply chain city model is examined using the virtual value net theory. This case study validates the virtual value net theory and the Luen Thai's supply chain city model.
