The process of compensation grouting has been investigated in a model test. 10 tests have beenrnperformed in cylindrical sand model of 0.9 m diameter and a height of 0.84 m. Various densities andrngrout mixtures were tested. Results showed that for the type of sand used, the shape of the ‘fractures’rnis rather insensitive to the parameters varied; all tests resulted in an irregular shape relatively close tornthe injection point. The efficiency of the process depends to a large extend on the density of the sandrnand to a lesser extend to the bleeding of the grout during and after injection.
