The paper makes a succinct analysis of the advantages and limitations of the differential equation for pressures proposed by lonescu. The main theoretical and experimental aspects concerning the quantitative estimation of journal bearings are briefly presented. A variant of the equation ensuring calculation accuracy for lightly loaded bearings is proposed.
