Dynamic Chest Image Analysis aims to develop model-based computer analysis and visualization methods for showing focal and general abnormalities of lung ventilation and perfusion based on a sequence of digital chest fluoroscopy frames collected with the Dynamic Pulmonary Imaging technique. The shapes and motions of lung and heart give an indispensable clue to ventilation and perfusion examinations. To this end, we have created a technique called called "United Snakes" as a common frame-work for lung registration and motion analysis as well as cardiac motion and shape analysis. This paper proposes an automatic method for KOI (region of interest) analysis with lung division for a quick ventilation examination and an efficient approach for identifying local and global di-aphragm motion abnormalities with United Snakes.
