In this patent a new blood vessel segmentation method based on the analysis of 3d lung density combined with the k-mean algorithm is proposed. The development of the method is based on the importance of helping to diagnose pulmonary heart diseases that the segmentation and extraction of blood vessel characteristics provide. The segmentation method is applied to medical images in dicom format or similar.
