Smart Profile Agent for Internet Access

Internet is fast becoming a common medium in areas of communication, education, research, entertainment, electronic commerce (e-commerce), and many others. As a result, it has created a large expanding pool of Internet users. When accessing the Internet for information, users often need to browse through numerous web pages. To help users reduce the number of steps to reach the desired web pages for the information required and also to collect user information, user profiles are often needed by Internet service providers. However most users lack the patience to fill up various profiles from tune to time. The situation is made worse when in many cases, a user is informed of an error after filling up the complete profile, and he is required to go back and repeat the profile-filling process. In this paper, a Smart Profile Agent (SPA) is proposed to help users fill up profiles automatically. The proposed smart profile agent includes three component layers, an agent interface, a reactive function and an encrypted database. Relevant security issues are also discussed in this paper.
