Telecommunication's Contribution to Mining

In recent years telecommunications have undergone great development that has affected mining along with other fields. The reduction in the size of equipment and the improvement in its quality have made it viable to install effective centralised control systems for the various operations and environmental situations involved in mining. Telecommunications have therefore made a notable contribution to the reduction of costs, increasing machinery uptime, facilitating tasks and, all in all, helping make mines more cost-effective.
