Most landslides are associated with heavy rainfall, while the frequencies of extraordinary severe rainfall events related to a large number of landslides are apparently increasing in the world for recent years (Kirschbaum et al., 2012).After "5.12" Wenchuan earthquake, the geological structure of surrounding areas is affected, and some potential geo-hazards occured induced by rainfall (Zhu et al., 2o11).The critical evaluation of rainfall-induced landslide failure need reasonable models to simulate the spatiotemporal changes of slopes in the hilly terrain.A physically based model test can take into account the contribution of rainfall infiltration and shear strength of saturated soil layer and reveal the formation mechanism of landslide.Slope-Infiltration-Distributed Equilibrium (SLIDE) model was developed by Liao et al., 2012, integrating soil mechanism, hydrology, topography, and rainfall.In this study, we developed interface SLIDE software to quantitatively evaluate the spatiotemporal predictability in Lixian, Sichuan province and analyze the FS (Factor of Safety) varies with rainfall time at the "2011.07.06" landslide event.The result shows SLIDE model can reveal and evaluate the rainstorm-induced landslide process in saturated soil layer.
