The objective of this study is to characterise the mass transfer in a rectangular air-lift loop reactor in two-phase flow. Ina previous work, it has been point out that this reactor shows a complex gas flow distribution. First, a global kLkLavolumetric coefficient was measured in two-phase flow, by three methods (two based on the liquid phase mass balance,and one based on the gas phase mass balance). Further, in order to obtain more information about the phenomenphenomenagoverning the gas phase flow, a local analysis of the bubbles composition was made, using a bubbles trap.
