Toyota Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) have been progressing as social needsfor vehicle safety increase. Vehicle surround looking sensors are key devices for thesesystems as a role of eyes, and system performance much depends on these sensorsperformance. These sensors have been developed as single-functional sensors so far, however,as various ADAS are integrated in one vehicle, they have to be enhanced. From the viewpointof optimum architecture as vehicle systems, sensor sharing or sensor integration is necessaryamong systems which require similar sensor specification. And when several sensors areinstalled in one vehicle, it is also needed to create additional value by combining these sensors.In this paper, enhancement of surround looking sensors is described, as well as introducingsensor fusion pre-crash safety system which has been launched this summer.
