DEVELOPMENT OF PARKING LOT IN/OUTCONTROL SYSTEM USING DSRC TECHNOLOGY

A parking lot IN/OUT control system using DSRC technology is under development as partof multi-purpose deployment measures of ETC-related technology, which is fast becoming away of life in the Japanese automobile society. Toward the full commercialization of thesystem, research and development is going on for the 'next-generation ITS on-boardequipment. This report presents the outline of the current development status anddemonstration tests for ITS on-board equipment. The development is focused on (1)utilization of multi-purpose IC cards, (2) parking lot fee settlement using credit cards, and (3)the use of IC cards as parking lot tickets.
