High performance fiber reinforced cementitious composite (HPFRCC) is characterized by tensile strainhardening and multiple cracking. One proposed application of HPFRCCs is in devices for controlling thedeformation due to seismic response of buildings so as to mitigate structural damage of buildings forcontinuous use. In order to verify the effectiveness of HPFRCC response control devices, shaking tabletests are performed on a 1 × 2 span 3-story steel frame which incorporate these elements in each story. Thetest results show that HPFRCC devices are able to significantly reduce response deformation of the steelframe.
