In this paper, we present a methodology aimed at providing annetwork controller with traffic characteristics pertinent to individualnusers applications. We start with a classification of source traffic inna broadband integrated network. Traffic is analyzed in terms of itsnconstituent applications generated at a user's site. The classificationncriteria include different quality of service (QOS) measures such asndelay, cell loss, and bandwidth requirements. Individual usernapplications can then be included in one of the proposed trafficnclasses. Traffic resulting from a combination of different classes isnnot itself a class. Analysis is then performed for individualnapplications and classes. Results are summarized in the form of anprogrammable useretwork traffic conversion table
